FASHION / something I wore to Fashionweek

sweater & bag - oasap | dress - monki | shoes - h&m

It took me a good night of sleep and some pizza but my mind is back to normal again. Fashionweek is behind us, which means school and studying are right around the corner. Luckily there are many fun things on the agenda as well. This Friday I'm going to a drum 'n bass party in Utrecht and on Tuesday I'm going back to my old high school to pick up the art work I made while I studied there. I hope they still have everything, because I literally worked my butt off on some of those pieces and I'd like to keep them simply because I'm proud of it. Besides that the countdown to my wintersport holiday has also begun, in about 3 weeks I'll be in the mountains on my snowboard. I cannot wait!

Anyways, above you can see one of the outfits I wore to Amsterdam Fashionweek. It was extremely cold that day so that explains the warm sweater haha. Though I didn't put a lot of thought into this outfit I really like the combination of the robust sweater and the light dress. What do you think?

MBFWA / Amsterdam Fashionweek day 5!

all photographs by me

And it's a wrap! Monday night I came home from another amazing day at Amsterdam Fashionweek, and as much as I like fashionweek, I was glad it was over. Because, don't get me wrong, fashionweek is a great event, but it is very tiring, especially when you're there from 3 till 9, three days in a row! Plus, I had to travel back and forth between Rotterdam and Amsterdam, which made my days even longer haha. But, I'm not complaining, because I've seen the most gorgeous collections and today I'm sharing two of them with you.

About EVAN menswear. This fashionweek I've actually seen quite a lot of mens collections, but this was without doubt my favourite one. I mean look at the jacket and the transparant raincoat! Besides the amazing collection, I also liked the overall look of the models, obviously I'm talking about the painted faces and hair here, it gave the show that little extra wow factor!

About Dorhout Mees. How I love this designer. This was actually the third time I attended a catwalk show by Dorhout Mees and just like always it was gorgeous. Very differen though from the other two collections I've seen, but still it had her trademark. Unfortunately I didn't have such a good seat during this show, so the quality of the photographs are therefore a bit poor. However, just like in my last post I included the youtube video of the full catwalk show, so click click click it!

This was my last catwalk related post, from now on there will be outfit posts again!

MBFWA / Amsterdam Fashionweek day 4!

all photographs by me

And then fashionweek was almost over again. Yesterday I was at the fourth day of Amsterdam Fashionweek and I saw even more beautiful designs than the day before. I attended the shows of MAYN, Mirte van Wijngaarden, Dennis Diem, Army of Me, Frampresca and Smaranda Almasan. As you can see those are quite a lot of shows, and obviously I took quite a lot of pictures. And therefore I've decided to just show the pictures of my two favourite shows of the day: Dennis Diem and Smaranda Almasan.

About Dennis Diem. "Wow" that's what I thought when the first girl came walking up the runway. Dennis Diem's collection was absolutely breathtaking, definitely the best collection I've seen so far this week! My favourite piece is the dress you can see on the first picture, and fun fact: The green rainbow/shiny elytra of the Thai jewel beetle are key pieces in this collection. They are embroidered in a snakescale pattern. Important for Diem is the fact that these beetles died of natural causes, after which they were collected for their elytra. (click on the youtube video to see the entire show!)

About Smaranda Almasan. As you can see on the pictures this is an entirely different kind of collection than that of Dennis Diem. Nevertheless, I like this collection just as much but in a different way. The pieces in this collection aren't something you will find in my closet since I'm not that into colour when it comes down to wearing it myself. But the colour combinations in this collection are amazing! Especially the coats made me eager for more colours in my own wardrobe!

And that's it! Today I'll be at the last day of Amsterdam Fashionweek, so stay tuned for more!

MBFWA / Amsterdam Fashionweek day 2!

first 3 photographs - Said Mahrouf / 4 + 5 - Lisa Konno

And Amsterdam fashionweek has officially begun for me. Today I attended two shows with the lovely Joy and it was a great kick-off! First we saw the new collection of Said Mahrouf, which showed gorgeous colours. The people who've been following me for a while know I'm not a big fan of colours, but the blue and white combined is absolutely amazing and I can definitely see myself wearing this! If you want to see more of Said Mahrouf's collection you can go to my instragram because I uploaded a video there!

After the first show we had some wine and talked for a while and then it was already time for the second show of the day. Which was actually a 2-in-1 show, since there were two different designers. Above you can see two shots of Lisa Konno's collection, which I really liked as well. I loved the hairdo of the models and all the stripes in different colours looked lovely as well! Anyways, this is just to give you an impression of the many gorgeous designs I've seen today. Of course there were outfit photo's taken as well, but I will save those for after fashionweek!

I'm ready for Sunday, who's going as well?

INSPIRATION / getting ready for Amsterdam Fashionweek

Thank god I'm almost done with my exams, tomorrow morning I'll have my last one and after that it's time to party! Not only will I be dancing untill my feet hurt on Friday night, but I'll spent quite some time in Amsterdam for fashionweek this weekend as well. This year I'm attending 6 six shows, on Friday, Sunday and Monday, so if you happen to be there as well, come and say hi. I would love to meet some of you! I'm especially looking forward to the new collection of Dorhout Mees, during the last two editions of Amsterdam Fashionweek I went to her shows as well and I loved each and every one of the designs. Above you can see some of my favourite pieces of her S/S 2015 collection. Looking at it makes me even more curious about what she will show this year!

Anyways, this is just a quick post to let you know I'm still alive. Prepare yourself for loads of fashionweek outfits and catwalk photo's coming up!

FASHION / the theory of everything

leather jacket - zara / skirt - elite99 / shoes & top - h&m

About the outfit. I'm aware of the fact that the weather in The Netherlands currently doesn't allow you to go outside with bare legs. However, here I am, freezing, wearing this amazing skirt without tights. The reason why is rather simple, I just couldn't wait 'till spring to show you this amazing new skirt from Elite99. I got it in the mail a few days ago and I tried combining the skirt with tights, but without them the outfit just looks so much better. So therefore, here I am, in the cold, taking outfit pictures. Obviously, I immediately changed into a warmer outfit after this!

About my life. Recently I've been very busy with studying because Monday my examweek will start. The reason I haven't posted that much lately, is because I'd prefer to spend the free time that I have with my friends, instead of behind a computerscreen. Friday night, for instance, I went to see The Theory of Everything with Dylan, and I loved the movie! For those who've never heard of it before: it's about Stephen Hawking, and mainly focuses on his illness and how that affects his family. I enjoyed the movie, but I had hoped on a bit more information about physics. However, if you want to see a movie, I recommend this one!

And that's it for now!
